1) Inspire students to enjoy learning.2) Encourage students to read more and help develop a lifelong love of reading.
3) Create a safe and enjoyable environment to explore new topics and engage with peers to discuss themes and ideas.
4) Foster creativity with hands-on, open-ended art, games and activities related to new concepts.
5) Relate themes from the book to core values and to students' own lives in a meaningful way.
6) Forge relationships among students who can continue to discuss and share thoughts and ideas about new concepts.
7) Nurture an enthusiasm for learning within a student’s family environment.
